Are my Children safe on the Internet?

Well let's say this.  That depends on you as a parent.  If you are using the internet as a Babysitting service.  Then the answer is NO!  Parents have to keep track of their children.  You would not turn your child lose at Walmart's and say "see you in an hour"  With no supervision.  Then do not turn them loose on the internet  with no supervision.  Just like with TV or friends  you have to educate your child on the safety of the intenet.  Even after that you still have to monitor.   The internet is designed for everyone therefore you will find sites for everyone.  Children can stumble on these sites and learn things you may prefer them not to know or even meet people they shouldn't.  Just like in the real world.  The Internet is not a play ground for children.  However children should be able to access it as a learning tool.  There are lots of secure/safe sites for them to manuever.  There is a wealth of knowledge and education on the internet that can benefit your child.   Just monitor their activities and you can even make it  family time.   Teaching children is an important part of our jobs as parents.
