To show you how easy it is to save money on refilling your old inkjet cartridges, some questions and answers have been posed to give you some solutions as to the high cost of buying new inkjet cartridges.

How much can I save? TOP
Find your printer in the list of refill kits at our web site, divide the cost of the kit by the number of refills. For example are Deluxe kit cost $34.95 if you get 15 refills per kit your cost is $3.50 per refill. Compare that to a new cartridge price.

Is it easy to refill my cartridge? TOP
Most adults and teenagers are able to refill cartridges easily. Are the instructions clear and concise? We have been told the instructions are easier to understand than any others on the market.

Is Everything included in the refill kit? TOP
Yes, the kits contain everything needed for you to refill your cartridge quickly and easily. Fully illustrated instructions, ink injectors, all of the necessary supplies that you would need that are not routinely in your home, such as newspaper or paper toweling. Some kits recommend that you use a vise or a pair of pliers (we assume you will have these items) or will purchase a top popper from us for those special cartridges.

Should old cartridges be Discarded? TOP
No...Most cartridges that are properly cared for can be refilled many times.

How do I properly care for a cartridge? TOP
An inkjet printer works by heating a resister inside of the print head which heats the ink before it is sprayed onto a piece of paper. The ink cools the resistors used to heat the ink. If there is no ink the resister overheats. This shortens or ends the life of the cartridge. At the first sign of running out of ink, such as broken lines or color changes, stop printing and either refill your cartridge, store the cartridge in a airtight bag , or use a cartridge clip over the print head. Even an old dried out cartridge can be refilled, but the success rate is lower and it usually needs to be sent to us to be refilled.

How many times can I refill my cartridge before it wears out? TOP
This is a difficult question to answer. Under ideal conditions it may refill 10 or 15 times. Once you notice the quality of print deteriorating, run a head cleaning procedure as per the instructions in your printer manual. If this does not work it may be time to purchase a new cartridge. Those of you that have print heads separate from the cartridge may find that the cartridges are still working fine, while the print head needs replacement.

What about the quality of the ink, are all inks the same? TOP
NO. It is very important for you to know that different printers require different ink formulas. If you use the wrong type of ink, it may clog your cartridge printhead.

What do I have to gain? TOP

Do Printers Need Different Inks? TOP
Many cars use Economy gasoline. Sports Cars use Premium Gasoline. And big trucks use Diesel Fuel. In the same way, each inkjet printer uses a particular set of inks which gives the best performance.

Each of our inks was developed especially for the cartridge(s) it is used in, and will likely differ in viscosity, surface tension, chemical composition, and shade from other inks we provide for other cartridges. That's one way we ensure that you have the best quality inks available -- with as good a performance as the originals! . The shelf life of our inks is 2 years or more -- assuming that you put the lid back on tightly and store the ink at normal 75F (20C) room temperature. Promoters of "One Size Fits All" inks are simply trying to reduce the inventory they have to carry -- and your print quality will suffer because of it.

Will the Inkjet Refill System work in my printer? TOP
Yes, all inkjet cartridges have a filling hole. When the cartridge is first made the manufacturer filled the cartridge with ink and then sealed the filling hole. All you are doing when refilling the cartridge is accessing the original filling hole and refilling it with ink. The Inkjet Refill System uses specially formulated ink, which works in any inkjet cartridge.

Does using Inkjet void my warranty? TOP
According to Hewlett-Packard®, the use of a refilled print cartridge does not affect the warranty unless failure or damage is attributable to it.* This is typical of all manufacturers' warranties. Keep in mind that the ink does not touch any part of the printer or internal parts other than the cartridge and print head. The ink is applied to the paper as the paper is fed through the printer.

For all practical purposes, yes. If there are slight variations in color, they can be adjusted through software.

No. TheInkjet ink is based on the microns in your inks

Is the Inkjet Refill System messy? TOP
No. The Inkjet Refill System uses a blunt needle injector which allows you to precisely control the filling process. Other refill kits use a squeeze bottle with needle and does not allow for precise control.

How many refills will I get from a Inkjet refill kit? TOP
That depends on the capacity of your cartridge. For example: You will get approximately 10 or more refills with the Canon BCII cartridge and about 2-3 refills with the Canon BC20 cartridge. Most Hewlett-Packard® black cartridges average approximately 2-3 refills and color cartridges 4-6.

How many times can a cartridge be refilled? TOP
The answer varies depending on the manufacturer and the model. All inkjet cartridges have a limited life span, and typically a cartridge will last between 3 - 10 refills due to the electronics that control printer jets. Small resistors on the cartridge overheat when the ink runs out, therefore limiting the life of the cartridge. You can extend the life of your cartridge by not letting the ink run out completely before refilling.

Does you have inks for the new 6 color systems? TOP
The 6 color systems are photo cartridges designed to obtain better skin tones in photo reproductions. Universal makes the Light Cyan and Light Magenta colors which are used to achieve these results. As of this writing HP, Canon, Epson and Lexmark (the big 4) all have printers that use these colors.

What can I do if the cartridge print nozzles are clogged? TOP
Uneven printing, skipping, or no print may suggest clogged print nozzles. If a cartridge has been left, unused or stored for a long period of time, its print nozzles may become blocked with old dried ink. One method is to allow the print heads to soak in our Cartridge & Print Head Cleaner for an hour, this should help unclog the print nozzles and restore print quality.
